I’ve gotten a lot of email since Tentacles came out asking if there will be a third book. You’re fast readers!
The answer is yes, and there will probably be more books after the third with Grace and Marty and the Cryptos Island gang.
Next question: “When will it be out?”
Answer: “I flattered, but the ink is barely dry on Tentacles. All I can say is that it will be out a lot sooner than Tentacles appeared after the first book, Cryptid Hunters.”
Next question: “Do you know the title?”
Answer: “No. I generally don’t come up with the title until after I finish a book.”
Next question: “Do you know what happens?”
Answer: “Yes.”
Last question: “Will you tell me what happens?”
Answer: “I’m afraid you’ll have to wait for the third book. Sorry.”
I CAN’T WAIT ANY LONGER. I’VE GOT TO TELL YOU THE REST OF MY IDEAS EVEN IF YOU DON’T ASK FOR IT!!!OH, AND THE NEXT BOOK BETTER BE COMING OUT SOON!!!!!!!!!! sorry had to get that off my chest. Just like I’ve got to get these ideas off my brain so I can cram in more ideas.
In my first list of title ideas I totally forgot about the mokele-mbembe hatchlings. Some good ideas for them and the trouble that the gang could have makes this idea both funny and true.

Did you have a big laugh? I know I did when I heard that it made me think of Tentacles.Lets hope that they will never invent a scratch and sniff for that. I will feel bad to whoever has to take care of them at Noah’s Ark.
Another thing that I didn’t cover were the things in Rose’s trunk or Grace’s grandmother/Noah’s wife.
What about “Noah’s Past” or better yet “Blackwood’s Past”.
I have a feeling that Luther will be in the third one also. He’s too valuable a character to loose. He makes things funny when things look bleak.
I’ve got some ideas to what the cover should look like. For “Blackwood’s Past” it should be Rose’s trunk. For “Dragon’s Eyes” or “Hundreds of Eyes” a pair of Dragonfly eyes
I feel sorry for you, so many loose ends to tie up to make sure the fans are happy and yet the fans are bugging you to ask for it to come faster. To anyone who reads these and is about to ask him to write faster I’ve got one thing to say to you…..

LOL!!!!!!! I think I figured out why Iv’e read this book more than 20 times! They are so funny! It has kept me from getting bored with it. I love how you ended Cryptid Hunters with Grace asking about what Marty had fed her in the Congo. “Green eggs and mamba” HILARIOUS!I also LOVE how you named chapter 6 in Tentacles Bo Voyage. That was very clever AND FUNNY.I have to say that that chapter is my absolute favorite! That and “One and Two” if they were both girls having them named Grace and Luther! I was on the floor laughing after I read that!!!
That is the reason this series is way better than the “Hunger Games Series” No offence to Suzanne Collins or any Hunger Games fans, it just needs a litte humor brighten it up a bit.
To make it more interesting why don’t you add in some romance,other than Wolfe and Laurel. Maybe Grace should fall in love while she is at Noah’s place, or maybe Marty, NO I KNOW!!! Make Luther fall in love and to a hottie too. That would be ROLLING ON THE FLOOR FUNNY!!!!!!
I bet that would be a lot of fun making Marty gelous that Luther got the cute one. A girl could hope…………….. I would like going out with Luther myself. Please PLEASE NAME HER Abigail (Abi for short) if you do give him a girlfriend that would be SO AWESOME!!!!!! It could be the recognition you give me for my title ideas “if it sticks”. I’m sorry that I write a lot it is such fun to give you my ideas though. Its so easy to come up with ideas for you stories, I just can’t get enough ideas to gather together to make my own. I hope to be joining the writing world soon I’m sure it isn’t all that easy for a 13 almost 14 year old to write some big books for people in her age group.

Cause Grace going to Blackwood is so much of a cliff hanger but hey cliff hangers means a chance for another book which there is. YA! I have a kindle so i can get it the day i comes out.Also, I hope Yovonne gets what she deserves. Cause she deserves to be tortured or eaten by a sea creature not the squid at the NZA aquarium mostly because that would be bad buisness. But beaten down by Winkin,Blinken, and Nod would be good. So she dies by the thing she lied about. But you don’t have to us my idea mostly becasue, but haveing her die would be great. P.S. I have a grousome mind. No biggy though.
This is a really great series. I can’t wait until the next book comes out. My Dad and I read the first two books together and we loved them. There should be movies for this series.

Well, I finished Tentacles the day I got it, rare for me to burn through books like that, and can’t wait for the sequel. Sadly the sequel isn’t out yet so now I’m left hanging, but that just makes the third book that much better when I get my tentacles, err hands, on it.
I haven’t read Cryptid hunters yet but Tentacles basically explains it all. I just finished reading it today, and It was beyond impressing. I really can’t wait for the next book or better: the movie series. I am now one of you biggest fans.

I’m a huge fan of all your work, and i am currently reading Cryptid Hunters now. I bought my first copy at a local Salvation Army in Key West. The only thing is someone cut a compartment throgh pages 51-109. I was devestated. Luckily, my friend Gavin is lending me his. I love it, both Marty and Grace’s characters are so relateable to me. If you write any other books, I’d love to hear about them, they’re my only escape from this depressing world. Ever since
my dad got diagnosed with lung cancer it’s been hard… but still your a grade A author in this 12-year-old’s mind!
I agree with abagail. You should make Grace fall in love at Noah’s Ark just like her dad, Wolf did!!! It would be really cool and exciting. I would like it even beter if it had some romance!!!

I am a bit disappointed because this FAQ was written in 2009 and it is currently 2012. I am starting to doubt if there will EVER be a sequel. No offense but I al starting to lose hope.

Today is June 6, 2012 and my son and I finished Tentacles the other day. I see here that you plan to write a few more books in this “Crytoid” series. It looks like Tentacles was published in 2009 any chance the 3rd book is right around the corner? Any idea on a publication date?
Question, when you tart to write a book (like the 3rd one here i’m waiting for) do you know what happens from page one until the last page or do you start with an idea and just see where it takes you and voila you have your story?
I re-read Tentacles a few days ago, and this wait is killing me! I can’t wait for the next book and will most certainly buy it as soon as it comes out! Thanks!
I didn’t read all the posts (if I did, people might question my sanity), so I don’t know if this was asked already: Wikipedia says that the sequel will and/or might be named “Chupacabra”. Is that true?
